Our adult education program, for participants aged 21 and older, is designed to improve the educational and employment opportunities of adults in the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES catchment area.
A variety of adult programming is offered throughout the area, including Malone, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, and the Akwesasne Mohawk Reserve. Program options consist of morning, afternoon, or evening sessions. Opportunities to participate in distance learning (home study) are available for those students who are unable to attend traditional programming.

Traditional Classroom Model
- Adult Basic Education (ABE) – lower level
- Preparation for high school equivalency/GED® tests
- English Language Learning (ELL)
- Career and Technical Education
Distance Learning Model/Home Study
- SMART – skills to make adults ready to succeed – for new readers to 5th-6th grade
- Giving Ready Adults a Study Program (GRASP) – for participants with a 7th-grade reading level and up
- Fast track math packets – a targeted program that teaches math and some science

- Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club
- Mondays: 6-9 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 6-9 p.m.

Career and Technical Education
We do not currently run any vocational programs specifically for adults. We do, however, allow adults to participate in our high school CTE programs if there is space left after our high school students are signed up.
