Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES staff, Santa Claus and Buddy the Elf invite the public to stop by North Franklin Educational Center for some holiday spirit this Tuesday.
The modular home that FEH BOCES students are building is decked out in the style of a gingerbread house, and because it looks so good, Santa and Buddy decided to stop by the house to meet with all the good little girls and boys of the Malone region.
Children and Christmas aficionados are welcome to come visit between 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 23 Husky Lane in Malone. The modular house is being built off the parking lot next to North Franklin Educational Center, and it will be lit up brightly to guide sleighs there.
Visitors will be welcomed into the modular house, where children can sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their Christmas wishes while caregivers grab photos. Everyone is welcome to test out Buddy’s holiday cookies and hot cocoa, too.
Building Trades students built a mailbox for letters to Santa, which is installed outside the modular house. Students in the FEH BOCES Early Childhood Education program are working closely with Santa to respond to letters. Children are welcome to drop off a letter with their return address on it, and they can expect to receive a letter in return.
Every year, students in the Building Trades program at NFEC work with Electrical Trades and Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning classes to construct a modular home. The house is expected to be put up for sale in January. Information about that will be available at fehb.org when it’s ready.
FEH BOCES supports 10 school districts in Franklin, Essex and Hamilton counties with educational programs, instructional support, and operational support.
