Student Board members meet with Dale Breault

On Wednesday, September 17, student representatives from Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES and its component districts joined the first-ever Student Board of Education Training.

Students gathered at FEH BOCES to take part in a Zoom session hosted at Capital Region BOCES, where they connected with fellow student board members and state officials from across New York. District Superintendent Dale Breault joined the group in support of this milestone event. Brandon Pelkey, Superintendent at Malone Central School District, also accompanied students from his district.

Organized by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA), the training highlighted student leadership and prepared participants for their new responsibilities as ex officio board members, a requirement under a law that took effect July 1.
