Summer trades camp

This summer, Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES will host its Summer Trades Camp for middle school students who want to explore hands-on trade skills in a fun and engaging environment.

The weeklong day camp will run Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18, with sessions held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at the North Franklin Educational Center, 23 Husky Lane in Malone.

The camp is open to students entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the 2025–26 school year who attend one of the following school districts: Brushton-Moira, Chateaugay, Malone, St. Regis Falls, or Salmon River. Homeschooled students residing in these districts are also welcome to participate.

Students will choose two trades to explore from the following four areas: Auto Technology, Culinary Arts, Cosmetology, and Health Occupations. Through hands-on projects and guided instruction, students will learn practical skills while gaining insight into career pathways in each field.

Summer Trades Camp is also a great opportunity for students to meet new friends from other districts while learning and having fun.

Tuition is $225 per student, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
