New Vision Government and Law students attended BOCES Advocacy Day in Albany last week.

Here's a report from Rhea Work, who is the class's elected public relations representative:

Last week, the New Vision Government and Law class of 2023 got the honor to visit the NY Capitol building. Our local friend and mentor, Assemblyman Billy Jones, greeted us and his assistant, Chase Stoffle,  gave us a tour around the building.

We got to practice lobbying with Billy jones and our good friend Senator Dan Stec.

We spent two days in Albany participating in so many different activities.

We got to participate in a press conference about school lunches, in which one of our students, Carson Hanna, was able to speak his opinion on the topic.

We promoted the BOCES, we met with the legislators from the assembly and the senate, we got to view different protests going on in the building. Most importantly, we were introduced to many adults who do amazing work every day.

This was a very educational trip for all of us, and we thank everyone who put in hours of preparation to make this trip happen.
