The course teaches participants the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges common among adolescents, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, eating disorders, AD/HD, disruptive behavior disorders, and substance use disorder. The Wild Center has collaborated with science and art-based institutions to bring inquiry-based questioning strategies to science education. These methods support NYSSLS by providing a framework for student-lead discussions as they conduct investigations, communicate information framework for student-lead discussions and back ideas up with evidence. Inquiry has been successful with complex datasets, models, scientific specimens, and hands-on experiments. Participants will explore how science museums are able to develop accessible, student-driven programs. Hear about successes, challenges, and experience these processes in action. This course helps teachers and students understand the ideas and areas of digital citizenship. We will describe the impact of our digital footprint. Will show how to participate in online communities, help students deal with cyberbullying, keep computers free of viruses and malware, and safely shop online. The overall focus of this course is on educators and tips for teaching digital citizenship. But if you use the Internet for any reason-for communication, playing games, online shopping, interacting within communities, or any other reason-it is important to understand digital citizenship. Understanding your rights and responsibilities will help you stay safe and have a better experience online.
