School Improvement

School improvement efforts nationally, in New York, and regionally focus on results, promote local initiatives, and seek to empower educators at all levels.  The Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES Office of Special Services, in collaboration with the Adirondack Teacher Center (ATC) and the Special Education Training and Resource Center (SETRC), supports districts by providing regional leadership, encouraging local initiatives, providing planning assistance, and staff development opportunities designed to meet regionally identified school improvement needs and/or state initiatives.  The activities described on the following pages reflect this commitment.  

Additionally, this service provides BOCES aid to districts for workshop costs, consultant fees, facility use, meals, materials, lodging and transportation costs for presenters, and substitute costs or teacher stipends (for summer and other appropriate activities) for all school improvement, curriculum, and staff development expenses that meet Co-Ser guidelines.

The School/Curriculum Improvement activities in this brochure are available to districts outside the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES via a cross-contract, if applicable guidelines are met.

 

Administrators’ Leadership Conference

The Administrators’ Leadership Conference provides a visionary and comprehensive training opportunity for all levels of administrators. This Administrators’ Leadership Conference will bring together administrators from across the North Country region to share and explore practices and ideas and discuss their role as leaders to improve student achievement.  This year’s theme is “Good Leadership is Not Accidental.”  Topics for this conference include:
