Healthcare Career Exploration

In today's fast-paced healthcare industry there are many highly skilled and specialized positions.  The New Vison program lets students experience many of these hands on.

The Adirondack Educational Center through the New Vision course offers high school seniors the opportunity to have on-site hospital experience at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.  This experience will help students make important career decisions about health care positions, assisting them as they pursue their collage education.

New Vision students can apply to receive credit at the following institutions:

Student requirements include:

High School Senior
Developed maturity and the ability to work both independently and in teams
Demonstrated above-average written and verbal skills
Completed 3-years of Science
Completed 3-years of Math
Recommended by High School Guidance Counselor and Principal
Meet health standards as set by NYS for working in hospital setting
